League Rules

  1. The League shall consist of a maximum of 24 teams.
  2. Each team shall consist of no more than 10, and no less than 6, registered players
  3. A team seeking League membership must apply at the Leagues' Annual General Meeting and, if successful, must submit a list of players, indicating which player is the Team Captain, and pay all fees due at the following meeting of the League Committee
  4. Team members must be at least 14 years old, and no member under the age of 18 may buy or drink alcoholic drinks at match venues.
  5. Matches consist of: one four a side game; 2 doubles and 4 single matches of 501. All games are flying start and finish on a double (bull = double 25 finish). Each game consists of three legs and all three must be played.
  6. Each team must appoint a member to attend League Committee meetings.
  7. At least 4 team members, including either the Captain or the Vice-Captain, must be present during the draw of players before each match. A player who fails to attend a match having been drawn to play may be replaced by a reserve player. If a team has less than 4 players attending a match they forfeight one point for each game not played.
  8. The Captain of a team unable to play a match when scheduled must notify the opponents' Captain by the Sunday preceding the date of the fixture, and inform the Secretary. The opponents' Captain may offer either of two dates to play the match. If neither date is acceptable the team in default forfeits the match points. Points are not forfeited if weather makes travel to a venue difficult, when another date should be arranged.
  9. Each team is to appoint markers. If an error in scoring is noticed it must be rectified immediately. No amendment to the scores is permitted after the leg is completed.
  10. The throw is not less than 7 feet and 9 3/4 inches. Any infringements of this rule to be dealt by the Teams Captains at the time.
  11. Match results must be notified to the Secretary on the day following the play. If the Captains are unable to do this they should ensure that another player does.
  12. A registered player may transfer to another team during the season only if a satisfactory reason is given to a meeting of the League Committee, and the League's officers, after consideration, approve of the request.
  13. A player resigning from a team may be replaced after 14 days notice, given to the Secretary.
  14. Officers are not to be asked to mark during finals nights games if they themselves are playing in the competition
  15. Barracking or harassment of players is unacceptable
